THE “IN HONOR OF CHRIST” FAITH SHARE GATHERING
On October 11, 2025, ServU hosted a celebration of the Lord Jesus Christ in St. Rose, Louisiana. The gathering took place in a hybrid format, with participants attending both in person and via livestream. Moving, inspiring, and reflective songs of praise and worship were offered to the Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior.
Prayers for the United States, for Africa, and for the world were led by Bro. Ivo Roberts. Attendees received free copies of the New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs—donated by the Gideons/Womacks—as well as illustrative Gospel tracts provided by the LeBlancs. The celebration also featured the launch of the book Principles and Practices of Christ – A Digest of Life Lessons.
The high point of the event was the sharing of the MESSAGE OF CHRIST by Bro. Ivo Roberts, Bro. Sandy Womack, Sister Jessica LeBlanc (Attorney), Sister Vanessa Sylve (Author and RN), Dr. William Nganongo (a physician), and Dr. Fidelis N. Okonkwo (a physician).
Bro. Ivo Roberts reminded the attendees of humanity’s separation from God and from one another along racial, religious, regional, and cultural lines. But through our Lord Jesus Christ, God removes all barriers and unites us to Himself and to each other. In Christ, there is no division—we are one family, the family of God.
Bro. Sandy Womack highlighted the mission work of ServU in the United States and in Africa. He emphasized that people everywhere need the Lord and urged Christians to reach out with the love of Christ. He shared his mission-trip experiences in Arochukwu and neighboring communities in Nigeria and described ServU’s initiatives in Eastern and Western Nigerian rural areas, including health services, clean drinking water infrastructure, vocational training and self-employment resources for the rural poor, and distributions of food and sanitation items for needy families. He also described the work of the Gideons in providing free Bibles to people.
Sister Jessica LeBlanc, Sister Vanessa Sylve, and Dr. William Nganongo presented their key takeaways from reading Principles and Practices of Christ – A Digest of Life Lessons. Their insights included:
Centering the supremacy of Christ
Loving God and loving people
Decluttering life to focus on what truly matters
Seeing Christ as both the Way and the Destination
Practicing thankfulness as a safeguard against greed and the truest expression of loving God and loving people
Recognizing that the message is not about any religious denomination
Appreciating the book’s simplicity, clarity, and readability
Understanding that possessions and positions are never ends in themselves but tools to serve and honor the Lord
Engaging in self-examination in light of the virtues of Christ
The guest speaker, Dr. Okonkwo, spoke about the emptiness of life without God. He reminded us of life’s brevity and our need to center God in all we do. He urged us to reflect on the wisdom and love of God evident in creation and especially in the intricate processes that sustain human life. He encouraged us to recognize God in the simple things and to find true success and meaning only in God’s purpose, not in the emptiness of our own pursuits. His personal takeaway from Principles and Practices of Christ - A Digest of Life Lessons was: “It is all God or nothing.”
